Performance assessment of mechanical and durability properties of cupola slag geopolymer concrete with fly and rice husk ashes

Research into substituting recycled materials for cement and aggregates can yield beneficial natural resource conservation, waste management, cost savings, reduced embodied energy in concrete. Hence, this research investigates the potential adoption of coal fly ash (CFA) rice husk (RHA) as geopolymer binders to partially substitute varying proportions up 25%. However, cupola furnace slag (CFS) was also used a partial crushed granite from 0% 35% steps 5% production concrete (GPC). The selected were synthesized using an alkaline solution. Workability, compressive strength, rapid chloride penetration tests on fresh hardened normal (NC) control GPC containing CFS evaluated at different water-binder ratios. findings revealed that integrating 15%CFA, 20%RHA, 30%CFS with w/b 0.50 0.65 improved workability by 180% 105.7%, respectively, but strength is significantly reduced. further showed combining 75%OPC, 20%CFA, 5%RHA, 100%RS, 20%CFS, 80%CG results optimal 19.68 N/mm2 and, 21.49 28 days 56 0.50, contrasted lowest possible requirement. Rapid Migration Test (RMT) determine ions permeability various mixes. show produced combination 20%RHA 65%OPC, 30%CFS, 70%CG more durable has higher ion resistance than most other mix proportions.
